Nathan Tjoe-A-On Resmi Jadi WNI, Siap Debut Bela Timnas Indonesia Hadapi VietnamAbdul Majid/Tribunnews.comTRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Pemain keturunan Nathan Tjoe-A-On akhirnya resmi menjadi Warga Negara Indonesia (WNI) usai pengambilan sumpah dan janji pewarganegaraan di Kantor Imigrasi (Kanim) Kelas I Khusus TPI Soekarno Hatta, Selasa (12/3/2024).
Ketua Umum PSSI, Erick Thohir pun menyambut baik kabar ini.
Setelah ini, Nathan tinggal menjalani perpindahan federasi sepakbola dari KNVB ke PSSI.
“Hari ini Nathan sudah diproses juga untuk mendapatkan paspor dan KTP sebagai WNI. Satu langkah lagi yaitu mengurus perpindahan federasi untuk Nathan bisa membela timnas Indonesia,” kata Erick Thohir.
“Terima kasih atas dukungan semua lembaga yang membantu proses berjalan dengan baik,” sambungnya.
Sementara dua pemain lainnya Thom Haye dan Ragnar Oratmangoen yang juga tiba di Indonesia bersamaan dengan Nathan belum menjalani sumpah.
Kedua pemain tersebut kemungkinan masih menunggu Keppres Presiden dan setelah itu baru menjalani sumpah.
Sedangkan Nathan sendiri proses naturalisasinya memang sudah lengkap bersamaan dengan Jay Idzes pada akhir Desember lalu.
Hanya, Nathan kala itu belum bisa ke Indonesia karena belum mendapatkan izin dari klubnya.
Setelah menjadi WNI, Nathan saat ini bergabung di klub SC Heerenveen tersebut berpeluang besar melakukan debut bersama Indonesia saat laga melawan Vietnam pada laga lanjutan Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 babak kedua.
Seperti diketahui, pada pertemuan pertama, Indonesia terlebih dahulu menjamu Vietnam. Pertandingan tersebut digelar di Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK), Kamis (21/3/2024).
Kemudian gantian skuad Garuda yang melawat ke markas Vietnam. Laga tersebut dilaksanakan di Stadion Nasional My Dình, Selasa (26/3/2024).
