Dengan hasil ini, setengah kaki Jepang sudah dipastikan lolos ke babak 16 besar sebagai runner-up Grup D.
Sedangkan untuk Timnas Indonesia, jika tak bangkit di babak kedua, sudah dipastikan Skuad Garuda akan finis di peringkat ketiga.
Walhasil, peluang Timnas Indonesia untuk lolos ke babak 16 besar semakin tipis.
Di sisi lain, peluang Timnas Indonesia lolos ke babak selanjutnya hanya berharap pada laga Grup F antara Oman vs Kirgistan.
