Timnas U23 Indonesia mendapat sedikit kabar baik menjelang tampil di Piala Asia U23 2024.
Kabar baik untuk Timnas U23 Indonesia itu datang dari salah satu lawan yang akan dihadapi di fase grup Piala Asia U23 mendatang.
Adalah Timnas Australia yang menjadi sumber kebahagiaan kecil Timnas U23 Indonesia sebelum mengikuti Piala Asia U23 2024 nanti.
Di turnamen tersebut, Australia akan tampil dengan kekuatan yang agak kurang.
Pasalnya tim berjuluk Socceroos tak bisa memanggil beberapa pemain abroad mereka.
Sekiranya ada enam pemain abroad Australia U23 yang tak bisa tampil di Piala Asia U23 2024.

Kebanyakan pemain-pemain yang absen tersebut berlaga di kancah sepak bola Eropa.
Keenam pemain yang akan absen itu adalah Alessandro Circati (Parma Calcio 1913), Nicholas Bilokapic (Peterborough United FC), dan Calem Nieuwenhof (Heart of Midlothian FC).
Ada pula Cameron Peupion (Brighton & Hove Albion FC), Nectarios Triantis (Hibernian FC) and Patrick Yazbek (Viking FK) yang tak akan bergabung dengan Australia.
Mereka tak mendapatkan izin dari klub masing-masing untuk terlibat di Piala Asia U23 2024.
Padahal pelatih Australia U23, Tony Vidmar, sudah mencoba membujuk klub-klub tersebut.
Ia mengunjungi klub-klub itu satu per satu untuk memastikan izin yang diminta.
Namun, ia juga tak bisa berbuat banyak dengan keputusan klub-klub di atas.
Apalagi Piala Asia U23 2024 memang tak termasuk agenda resmi FIFA.
