Pemain naturalisasi kelahiran Brussel, Belgia itu cuma menghiasi bangku cadangan saat KV Mechelen melawan St. Truiden pada pertandingan kedua babak play-off Liga Pro Belgia.
Apesnya, Sandy Walsh menyaksikan secara langsung kekalahan tim-nya dengan menyakitkan.
Yap, KV Mechelen yang mulanya memimpin dua gol lebih dahulu akhirnya terkena comeback dengan skor 2-3.
Aktor kekalahan klub dari Sandy Walsh pada laga tersebut adalah pemain debutan Timnas Jepang.
Ialah Ryotaro Ito, gelandang serang yang baru saja membatu Timnas Jepang di Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026, Maret 2024 lalu.
Ryotaro Ito mencatatkan debut 45 menit pertama saat Timnas Jepang melumat Thailand dengan skor 5-0 di Rajamangala Stadium.
Adapun di laga kali ini, Ryotaro Ito masuk pada babak kedua menit ke-58 saat KV Mechelen masih unggul.
Masuknya pemain kelahiran Osaka tersebut langsung berdampak positif pada St. Truiden.
Hingga pada akhirnya Ryotaro Ito memborong dua gol yang mampu mengalahkan klub dari Sandy Walsh.
Atas hasil ini, St. Truiden yang menggantikan posisi dari KV Mechelen pada posisi runner-up klasemen Liga Pro Belgia babak play-off Liga Konferensi.
Sejalan dengan itu, Ryotaro Ito juga mencatatkan hasil baik perihal gol.
Saat ini pemain berusia 26 tahun telah memborong enam gol bersama St. Truiden.
Raihan itu menjadikan dirinya nomor dua sebagai pemain Asia pencetak gol terbanyak di Liga Pro Belgia.
