Mohamed Salah mencatatkan sejumlah rekor saat mengantarkan kemenangan 4-2 Liverpool atas Newcastle di Liga Inggris pekan ke-20, Selasa (2/1/2024).
Nama Mo Salah kini bersanding dengan Erling Haaland dari Manchester City dalam daftar top skor Liga Inggris dengan keduanya mencetak 14 gol.
Salah mencetak dua gol saat melawan Newcastle di Anfield. Dari dua itu, satunya dicetak melalui eksekusi penalti di menit 86\’, sedangkan satunya menjadi gol pembuka di laga ini di menit 49\’.
Pemain asal Mesir sebenarnya bisa mencetak hattrick andaikan satu kesempatan penalti lainnya bisa dikonversi menjadi gol.

Statistik buruk penalti pun mengiringi kegagalan penalti Mo Salah ini.Tidak ada pemain yang gagal mengeksekusi penalti Premier League lebih banyak sejak awal musim lalu selain Mohamed Salah (4).
Sejak bergabung dengan Liverpool pada 2017-18, Mohamed Salah gagal mengonversi penalti Premier League lebih banyak dibandingkan pemain lain (skor 6 – 23/29).
Faktanya, hanya Steven Gerrard (9) dan Michael Owen (7) yang lebih banyak gagal mengeksekusi penalti untuk Liverpool dibandingkan Salah.
Namun demikian, Salah juga mencatatkan catatan apik dalam kemenangan ini. Gol pertamanya menjadi gol yang ke-150 di Liga Inggris.
Salah menjadi pemain kelima yang mencapai rekor ini untuk satu klub. Empat pemain lainnya yang telah mencetak 150 gol untuk satu klub yakni, Harry Kane (Tottenham), Sergio Agüero (Man City), Wayne Rooney (Man Utd) dan Thierry Henry (Arsenal).
Salah kini telah mencetak 14 gol. Ia bersaing ketat dengan Erling Haaland yang juga mencatatkan jumlah yang sama.
Keduanya unggul dua gol dari Dominikus Solande dari Bournemouth serta Son Heung-min yang sama-sama mencetak 12 gol.
Salah kini duduk di peringkat kelima klasemen pencetak gol sepanjang masa The Reds dengan 204 gol di semua kompetisi.
