Klasemen Liga Inggris kembali mengalami perubahan di tiga teratas setelah kemenangan yang didapat Arsenal, Kamis (4/4//2024).
Arsenal menang 2-0 saat menjamu Luton Town di Emirates Stadium. Gol dari Martin Odegard (24\’) dan bunuh diri Daiki Hashioka (44\’) sudah cukup untuk membawa The Gunners kembali ke puncak klasemen.
Kemenangan itu melengserkan posisi Liverpool yang sebelumnya berada di pucuk klasemen.
Arsenal kini mengemas 68 poin, unggul satu poin atas Liverpool.
Namun demikian, posisi itu bisa kembali berubah sehari setelahnya. Pasalnya Liverpool baru akan bertanding pada Jumat (5/4) dinihari.
Lawannya pun terbilang cukup enteng, penghuni dasar klasemen Liga Inggris, Sheiffield United yang sejauh ini baru memiliki lima kemenangan hingga pekan ke-31.
Di laga lain, Manchester City juga meraih kemenangan saat menjamu tim peringkat empat klasemen, Aston Villa.
Pasukan Pep Guardiola menang meyakinkan dengan skor 4-1 berkat hattrick dari Phil Foden (45+1\’, 62\’, 69\’) serta gol pembuka Rodri (11\’).
Aston Villa sempat menyamakan skor menjadi 1-1 lewat goll Jhon Duran di menit 20\’.
Namun skor itu rupanya menjadi pelecut semangat The Citizens untuk kembali tancap gas.
Tambahan tiga poin membuat Man City menyamai poin Liverpool 67\’. Hanya saja poin itu belum mampu menggeser The Reds dari posisi kedua.
Pasalnya dalam hal selisih gol, tim asuhan Jurgen Klopp masih lebih baik dengan +40, ada gap +2 diantara keduanya.
Sedangkan kekalahan yang didapat Aston Villa membuat mereka tertahan dengan 59 poin.
